SHOWS
Here at Mavlow School of Dance, we put on a Show every 2 years, during the Summer Term. We devote the whole term to learning and perfecting Show Numbers, which the children perform for two nights on Stage at Heswall Hall, our venue of choice since 2005. The Show usually takes place at the beginning of July.
SHOW 2021
The 2021 Show was delayed by a term, because after the Spring Term Lockdown and the uncertainty of more restrictions, we decided to wait to guarantee the show could go ahead, and there would be less chance of us having to drop audience numbers etc.
By September, the children were keen to get on with the Show - as were we! We started choreography of the 2021 Show towards the end of the Summer Holidays so we were ready to start immediately, to the delight of the children.
The children work so hard, and I think this was in part to them doing something 'normal' after all the restrictions. We thought the children were dancing well in rehearsals, but they danced even better on stage - it felt like 'dancing was back' in its normal guise, and the audience was brilliant on both nights! We could tell they really appreciated that we had done something good for all of the children, and clearly enjoyed it as much as the children performing.
£350 was raised for both NWCR (North West Cancer Research) and Claire House who were very grateful for our donation, and their representatives also enjoyed the show.
So a heartfelt well done to all the children who took part!
