ADULT DANCE CLASSES

Are you an adult who wants to dance?

Perhaps you danced as a child and want to pick it up again.

Or perhaps it's something you've always wanted to do but never had the opportunity. 

Whatever your situation, we have something for everyone here at Mavlow School of Dance!

Adult Classes

All beginners welcome
Ballet Class - 1 Hour long, including all ages and abilities
Tap - 30 Minutes long, classes at different levels of ability
Fitness - Body Focus - 45 minute fitness class for all abilities

ADULT BALLET

Our Adult Ballet Class runs on a Monday evening from 20:50-21:50. A class purely for the enjoyment of Ballet, we take all ages and abilities in this class, just come and have a go. If you enjoy Ballet and want to share a class with like minded people who also enjoy Ballet, this class is for you! Come and join our wonderful Adult Ballet Community!

ADULT TAP

Adult Tap has always been by far the most popular of the Adult Classes we offer. We start a new beginners class approximately every 2-3 years (sooner if there is demand, and space in the timetable) and progression begins from there. Our Adults take the ISTD (Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing) Popular Tap Tests (PTT) Levels 1-6, ISTD PTT Bronze, Silver & Gold Medals, as well as ADA (Allied Dancing Association) Medal Tests from Bronze right through to Gold (Bronze, Bronze Bar, Silver, Silver Bar & Gold). 

For those who come in having danced before, simply tell us what Grade you got to as a child, and we will place you in the appropriate level group for your ability. Classes held throughout the week on weeknights. 

ADULT FITNESS - BODY FOCUS

A class that we ran weekly in the 80s & 90s, we had put it on the shelf when gyms became all the rage as everyone was going to the gym instead. However, we brought it back in 2022 when the demand for class based exercise classes was on the rise again. Held on a Thursday evening, this all ages and abilities class will focus on stretching and toning different parts of the body each week, with some simple jazz sequences toward the end of class providing a dance element to the class.
